What is a OneTimeSecret?
An OneTimeSecret is a secret/message, which can only be viewed once. After viewing the message once, it gets deleted and can't be viewed another time.
Why should I use this service?
An opportunity to send an OneTimeSecret, presents itself when You want to send sensitive data.
The message gets deleted immediately after it has been viewed.
That minimizes the time a third party would have to analyze your message.
On top of that it shows you if someone other than your intended recipient read the message,
if the message has been viewed the recipient will get informed that someone else has read the message and that the message is no longer available.
That way you know that someone else has seen your message.
What is keeping us from reading your secrets?
Every message is encrypted with a key, that is randomly generated in the browser (client side),
which is appended to the URL and not saved on server side.
Why should I add a password?
The optional password grants additional protection. Send the optional password, which gets saved and checked on server side,
on a different way of communication (SMS, second E-Mail). This way you reduce the attack potential through third parties even more.
Why should I add an expiration date?
With the optional expiration date, You can decide how long we save your secret on our server in an unviewed state.
We delete your message as soon as the expiration date passes.
What would I use the password-generator for?
The password-generator is there to make, sending passwords simpler and less time consuming,
since you save yourself the trouble of either coming up with the password or copying it into the text from another generator.
Can the recipient view the message again?
No after the message has been viewed once it gets deleted on our servers. We cant recreate the message from our side.
